PayPal & Ooredoo Fintech to Collaborate in the Maldives

Ooredoo Fintech and PayPal have officially announced their intent to collaborate, marking a major milestone in the Maldives’ journey toward digital transformation.

According to Ooredoo, the service will be accessible through M-Faisaa accounts, enabling users to:

  • Shop with PayPal merchants worldwide
  • Transfer funds between PayPal and m-Faisaa wallets
  • Empower Maldivian businesses to expand into international markets

The partnership is expected to go live in 2026.

Ooredoo Fintech CEO Khalid Al Hamadi highlighted that this collaboration is a crucial step in enabling cross-border digital transactions for citizens and enterprises alike.

Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed emphasized that the initiative would open doors for job creation, boost the Maldives’ participation in the global digital economy, and help bridge the digital divide.
